Those invitations…

THEY ARE DONE!

The bridal shower invites that is :) I have been thinking of how to do them for weeks now and we HAD to get them finished and mailed this week! I am so proud of them I designed them myself with a little Pinterest inspiration. Derek and I got all the materials Monday night. We finished and delivered them to the post office at midnight that same night!!! It was quite the process with printer problems and running out of glue sticks BUT I didn’t mess up any of the addresses! I wish we would have thought about using the printer to print the addresses for the save the dates, I think it made things 10 times neater and a little easier. So now we know :)

Here is a peek…
the mess while putting them together and drying

And what is the best part about these invitations!!! Beside being designed by me and us making them AND that they look awesome!!! They were very budget friendly were talking like under 20 bucks for all of 70! (not including postage) yeah I love it!

With all this wedding planning and designing I really think I have a thing for this and wish I would have gone to school for it!!! Lucky for me I have two friends getting married maybe they will let me do some work for them haha!

So life has been pretty normal we have just working and wedding stuff as usual. I finally sat down and made a personalized list of what really needs to get done for our wedding (which is in 108 DAYS) WHAT?! It is about 6 pages ugh but really if we just sat down we could probably knock out majority of it in a good weekend. And knowing us and Derek it will be the weekend before the wedding haha

Longmont, Colorado

Last week I traveled to Colorado for the very first time to be with my aunt after she had shoulder surgery. It was so wonderful to finally see the mountains in person! Soooo beautiful :)

We had a great time and did some shopping and lots of eating! Yum!
The first day I was there we went to a place downtown called the Bead Lounge were I feel in love with two bracelets and they are soo pretty! We had lunch at The Dickens Tavern and had some salads with bacon wrapped shrimps ah!

I have a thing now for turquoise and yellow, I am not sure why. Probably thanks to Pinterest and all the grey, yellow, and turquoise prettiness!
My uncle is a really good cook so he made us amazing food every night. We had Asian ish wings and home cut waffle fries, blackened chicken alfredo, that was spicy! And the last night he cooked up some aged steaks with some fried potato bites, mmmm so good!

It ended up being at five and a half hour drive for me…alone…boring! But compared to driving to Ohio (12 hours) it didn’t seem like nothing.

I am the lucky girl too by the way...

this is what I came home to after being gone for a few days!!!

AND THEN the next morning Derek was so kind to make me a yummy breakfast!

I had Sunday and Monday off of work which was MUCH needed! Derek and I had a very relaxed day around the house on Sunday. We did some gardening and some flower shopping, we now have a much cuter deck.

Last night we broke down and went out for some food. We went over our credit card statements for last month at the beginning of the month and boy do we like to eat out! That is a no no with this wedding coming up. So we decided that we would only go out for food a couple times a month…we, well Derek, pick Qdoba and had us a couple food babies!

OHHHH! We have come up with the final design and everything for the bridal shower invitations. I love them and I came up with the whole thing ah! We are waiting for the paper to go 50% off at Hobby Lobby ugh.

Well enough rambling for now…

high five for friday

it’s FRIDAY!!!

I have a lot to be grateful for this week…
I am so obsessed right now! We did a little shopping at a place downtown in Longmont called the Bead Lounge and I picked up these two lovely’s!!!

I traveled to Longmont, Colorado to visit with my aunt and uncle. My aunt had shoulder surgery on Wednesday so I came to help out too! It is so beautiful here. It is my first time ever seeing the mountains in person!
best picture I could get so far plus I forgot my camera and camcorder!

Our Save the Dates were sent and received and everyone one LOVES them as much as we do!!! Best DIY ever :)

120 MORE DAYS!!!! Until the wedding that is. I can’t believe it has come so fast and I know these last 120 days are going to fly and we have quite a bit to do AH!

I’ve had my car since November but driving her all the way to Nebraska and then to Colorado I realized how much I freaking love this car!
How about having 5 days off in a row 3 of which are spent in Colorado! I am loving it finally I worked 9 days in a row for this. It always feels wonderful to just do whatever I want for a change for a little bit, soooo relaxing :)

Well today we are off for some shopping and mountain viewing after we get some breakfast and homemade espresso drinks (they are amazing!)

Plan on a Colorado recap this coming week!

Oh life…

It has been awhile…oops!

I am still getting use to this needing to write a few times a week! It doesn’t help that we drove 13 hours last Monday and then I had to work a bunch so I was all out of the loop of life. Anyways here we are.

Well we finally got all of the save the dates addressed and put together and sent out! Some of the guest already got them today and we just mailed them out Saturday. The dang things were .01 over the standard stamp weight so we had to get two stamps. And of course this happens when I am not there (Derek sent them while I was at work) and he gets a stamp with George Washington and a wedding cake! What the heck?! Oh well I am glad they are off and hopefully everyone loves them as much as we do!

We had some really bad weather come through the other day/night, so since we are from Ohio where we hardly ever have to really prepare for a tornado I got us all set up in the basement!
our setup just in case
the dragon eating the sun, he showed up in the middle of one of the storms it was so weird!

We ended up not getting much of anything where we are. But almost all of the storms going around were producing tornados! It is so funny because every time we get bad weather out here without a doubt our grandma’s call to make sure we are okay. Love it!!!

I ordered my bridal bra today. My wedding dress has a low cut back so I searched the internet for one. I wanted a bra that was sexy, comfy, and gave me a good pushup so we will see if this one works!

Derek is in South Dakota until Wednesday and then I am off to Colorado to visit my aunt and uncle. My aunt is getting shoulder surgery so I am going to help her out while my uncle is at work. We are hoping that Derek can get back in time and not have a lot going on with work so he can go too!

OHHHH! I ordered the hunger games first book. I need to know why everyone is so hyped up about this. And (Derek will hate me but) he really wants to see the movie and I wanna read the book first then see it. Haha :)

Tata for now!

wedding under the willows

I think the blog needs a little explanation!

I wanted to “document” our journey while living in Nebraska and planning our wedding. The title Wedding Under the Willows comes from where we plan to have the ceremony (as long as it doesn’t rain…which it won’t!!!)

Here are some of the pictures I have found for inspiration for the wedding ceremony and reception.

We are going to use lace from my moms wedding dress

Pictures are either from Google or Pinterest!

on the road again...

We are on the road headed west for Nebraska :(

We had a wonderful time with our friends and family for the Easter holiday, so many people to see and places to go!!! We did get a lot of wedding stuff accomplished, FINALLY! The guest list is almost complete with addresses (a little behind on that) and the Save the Dates are done they just need to be addressed and mailed. Thanks to mom for helping finish all the tying.

We drove home Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning and arrived to Gibsonburg around 5 pm just in time for Lake Erie Perch at Rollersville Tarvern with the family. It was so worth the drive and wait :)

Friday Derek and I worked ground in the pretty tractor for most the day (well he did) Mom, Kiaya and I went to Bench’s Greenhouse to look for some plants but they didn’t have any house plants…sad face. We will just have to go back when we’re back in May! Mom and I did a little running around afterwards for wedding stuff. We got some burlap so I can DIY the guestbook. We also got some candle stick holders from the dollar tree to make redneck wine glasses for the reception! I am so excited to DIY stuff for our big day.

 I'm on Instagram now...katiekepp :)

Saturday morning my mom, sister and I went and saw my wedding dress again just to be sure! And I LOVE it still. I cannot wait only 131 more days! We met momma Dina, Todd and Alec at Levis Commons for some Biaggi’s sooooo GOOD! And we got the tuxes for the wedding picked out and ready to go…. Here’s a peek!

Sunday was Easter so we were running all over like always! I can’t wait to have a house so everyone can come to us haha! We made our rounds and stuffed ourselves with yummy homemade foods. Overall it was a great visit back home and it gave us the bug to want to move back home even more!!! We keep hoping :)

Another reason, among the millions, I want to move back is while mom and I were finding planting pots for me I found all kinds of fun stuff living in the garage just begging to be DIYed!!!

Well its back to the road and wedding planning for now….only 9.5 more hours!

ah!

Man I am wore out! I have worked two 8 hour days in a row…I haven’t don’t this in like ever. Sad I know people do it every day but it is not for me I guess. Being on my feet alllllll day that is!

This past weekend Derek and I worked on our Save the Dates and we are almost done! We worked almost all Sunday on them and I LOVE THEM sooooo much! I am planning making a tutorial on how we made them soon too.

Here is a peek…

We didn’t do much of anything else either. Went to the park and ran/rollerbladed which was lovely but a bit hot. The park we go to is just beautiful.  We just discovered a pair of swans that live in the big pond. ( I love swans) They mate for life did ya know that!?

Last night we made our first batch of really homemade chocolate chip cookies. They are pretty dang good! Super soft and chewy mmmmm!
I got the recipe from Pinterest here.

We will be on our way home to Ohio in less than 24 hours!!!! We haven’t been home since we surprised everyone at the beginning of February it has been toooooooo long!
